No último sábado, Leandro Santos "Barata", que pertence ao grupo Rhythm Brazil daqui de Sydney, sofreu acidente em Bondi. O estado dele é muito grave, os médicos diagnosticaram tetraplegia e Leandro está respirando por aparelhos.
Domingo, das 20h às 3h, no Favela (Potts Point, Sydney), acontece evento para arrecadar fundos com entrada a $20. Quem não puder ir, tem a opção de transferir para a conta que foi aberta em nome dele.

Our beloved brother Leandro Santos (Barata) was in a tragic accident at Bondi Beach on Saturday and is in a critical condition in hospital. Leandro came to Australia in September with two of his best friends, Daniel and Joao to study English. He met Timbalada the day he arrived, connected with his passion for capoeira and his culture and immediately became part of the Rhythm Brazil family.
From the bottom of our hearts, we can say that Leandro is truly one of the most special souls placed on this earth. His gigantic smile, infectious energy and frequent outburts of “porra!” and “beleza!” have infiltrated the hearts of so many.
At this stage, the doctors have diagnosed that Leandro is quadriplegic as a result of the accident and at present he is fighting to regain breathing of his own accord without the support of machines. They have said that only a miracle could see his recovery… And it’s a good thing that we all believe in miracles! If ever there was a soul who deserves a miracle, it’s our darling Leandro.
His recovery will be a long process and in order for him to stay positive and have every chance of that miraculous recovery, it is vital for him to have his family here to support him. We are holding a fundraiser and accepting donations to assist his family to come to Australia from Brazil, as well as for the on-going treatment that he will need.
